'Ecliptica' is the fourth album by the restless and versatile Maria Rod?s. Four years after her personal appropriation of the traditional Spanish copla with the album Maria Canta Copla and after the publication of her book 'Duerermevela', Rodes recovers with this work her facet as a singer-songwriter. This is an album inspired by her astronomer ancestor Lluis Rodes, who directed the Ebro Observatory during the Civil War. Inspired by the writings of his diary, it unites folklore, sound experimentation and intimate song to initiate us on a journey of infinite spirit in search of the Sun, love or a "Serene Night" (title of the prologue to the book 'The Firmament', by Lluis Rodes). |
