After two critically acclaimed albums Arifa wanted to explore new musical territory, which resulted in the cooperation of these female ?Voices from the East?: gadulka-player Vanya Valkova from Bulgaria, kemancheh-player Niusha Barimani from Iran and erhu-player Meng Xiao Xu from China. In their own countries these artists rank among the best and most famous artists in their field. Not only are they true masters on their string instruments, the three of them all have a beautiful voice, which takes the project one level higher. The willingness and ability of all musicians to step out of their comfort zone of their own tradition and to open their ears and minds to the music, is what makes this project an extraordinary experience.
