Kemener, Yann-Fanch - Les Chants de la Passion

This recording is the result of research work undertaken some fifteen years ago by Yann-Fanch Kemener and Also Ripoche, on traditional music from Basse-Bretagne and erudite music. Based on the most important celebration in Christianity, Easter,this repertoire is linked to the sung ritual of the Passion as it was carried out in Central Brittany until World War II. It also includes songs pertaining to the Maria cultus, as well as the hymn ?O Filii? written by P.F. Olivier Aubert for two cellos.
