A tribute to a band that was among the most dynamic on the international scene for several decades, end to its leader ? Art Blakey ? who managed not only lo bring together artists of great value but also to boost young talents and their glittering careers, this album collects live reinterpretations of timeless classics of the legendary Jazz Messengers. Valery Ponomarev, from Russia, had the dream of meeting Art Blakey and playing with him since he was a child. Thanks to his determination end talent, in the seventies, his dream came true: the drummer hired him when Bill Hardamn left the band and kept him with the band for four years. On the occasion of his last ltalian Tour (2011 ), Valery Ponomarev wanted to present himself as a ?messenger of jazz?, infusing, with his inimitable sound, an extraordinary verve to this group led by his friend, Fulvio Albano, with whom he shares the same vision of Jazz.
