Lebanese vocalist Yolla Khalife releases her third solo-album Hawak, which is formed around themes like love, the position of the woman in society and liberty of expression. On the album she brings together poets from Lebanon, Egypt, Iran, Afghanistan and Palenstina by using their poems to her songs. The musicians contributing to this album stem from different roots and styles: traditional oriental, classical, contemporary, latin, jazz and electro. Amidst of this richness in both lyrics and composition, Yolla?s voice is the beautiful glue that makes it all come together.
Treating the themes of love, woman and the freedom of expression, the third album of Yolla Khalife ?Hawak? brings together poets from Lebanon, Egypt, Iran, Afghanistan and Palestine, as well as crops of musicians influenced by Eastern, classical, contemporary, Latin, jazz and electronic music.
