info

T.S. Galloway was born in 1946 in Bronzeville, the African American neighborhood where civil rights, avant garde jazz, blues and gospel rights have been omnipresent since many decades. At a young age Galloway learned to play the trombone and became a member of the Count Basie Band. From there he started his musical journey bringing him to Amsterdam in the 1980s. In the 90s he joined the Dutch-Surinam brass band Fra Fra Big Band and later on he formed his own Galloway Big Band, with members of Fra Fra Big Band and expats living in Amsterdam, coming from the US, Venezuela, Surinam, and Israel. All this results in this catchy album: swinging and catchy Chicago style soul funk jazz, led by TS Galloway, with special guests: jazz singer Brenda French and American singer Omar Hester
