Bulat Okud?ava, the father of Russian songwriting, together with Vladimir Vysockij and Aleksandr Galic formed the sacred triad of the "bards", the "poets with guitar" who, with essential ballads, knotted the thread of hope in the so-called period of stagnation (1960-1985). His songs are a patrimony of poetry that melodically sinks into the rich Georgian and Armenian folklore. Alessio Lega brings to life in Italian the magic and enchantment of these little expressive miracles that, entrusted to simple but irresistible melodies and knotted around minimal stories, reflect the tensions and hopes of an entire people as only happens in the masterpieces of world literature and great songwriting. Alessio Lega has succeeded in rendering in Italian not only the meaning of Bulat Okud?ava's poems and songs but, above all, the spirit that has characterized them over time.
