?Canzoni per grilli e Rificolone? is the title of the debut album by the Florentine folk orchestra of plectrum instruments "La Nuova Pippolese", founded in 2015 by the cultural association "La Scena Muta" and directed by Francesco Frank Cusumano. The album comes after 5 years of intense concert activity and after a careful selection of traditional Florentine songs. Fourteen of them have been chosen, with a preference for songs by authors to the detriment of those of popular origin, as if to underline the historical origin of the old "pippolesi" who worked within the city walls. Numerous guests embellish the tracks, chosen from outside the classic Florentine song circuit: from Irene Grandi to Alessandro Benvenuti, from Gaia Nanni to Saverio Lanza, from members of contemporary music bands such as Street Clerks and Fanfara Station to Milanese Gerry Bruno of Brutos and Bebo Storti, alias Conte Uguccione.
