Bassist-songwriter Mikko Loytty, who has been involved in roots rhythm music for decades, has brought together past and present bandmates from over the years. The material on the BlueStars album and the all-star ensemble is, as its name suggests, deep in the heart of blues and blues-rock. The album features new songs from Loytty as well as evergreen blues standards. The BlueStars album features a total of 13 guitarists, including Dave Lindholm, Heikki Silvennoinen (Catwalk, Q.Stone, Kummeli, etc.), Pepe Alhqvist, Jarkka Rissanen, Janne Louhivuori (Hurriganes) and Slim Butler. The rhythm section consists of the band leader himself, as well as Loytty's trusted drummers Sakari Loytty (Q.Stone etc.), Jani Auvinen (Uniklubi, SF-Blues) and Arska Rautajoki.
