info

The Greek singer Vasiliki Papageorgiou seeks the cultural connection between Turkey and Greece in old Anatolian poetry by Shah Hatay. Shah Hatay (1487-1524) was the founder of the Safavid dynasty and shah from 1501 to 1524. He is considered a poet warrior king and a true son of Anatolia. His Azeri, Kurdish, Georgian, and Greek ancestry reflects the melting pot of the Anatolian plateau. The deep spirituality found in his poetry gained the respects of all the Sufi sects and tribes of Anatolia. Papageorgiou is backed by excellent instrumentalists on baglama, lute, acoustic guitar, bouzouki and double bass.
