From humble beginnings in South London, Afriquoi have spent the last six years developing their own unique diasporic sound drawing on influences from across the African continent and reworking them for the dancefloor. ?Can I Know You? is a frenetic collaboration with Kakatsitsi - a group of traditional drummers, dancers and singers from the Ga tribe of Southern Ghana. On ?Starship? Afriquoi collaborate with the Mercury Music Award nominated saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, also winner of numerous other awards, and balafon player Moussa Dembele from Burkina Faso.
