Les Fils Canouche have developed an ever richer repertoire open to both the Gypsy swing, Balkan music and Latin influences. This album, their forth, recorded in Paris and the result of a long process of composition, takes the training towards the high spheres of a fertile and blinkered jazz: the work of four musicians at the top of their art, combining emotion and energy, elegance and virtuosity. As in a symbol of this accomplished moult, the brilliant guitarist of Les Doigts de l'homme, Olivier Kikteff, brings his twirling soloist's paw on two tracks with an irresistible swing. Also and above all composed for the stage, this new recording essay is the heart of a completely redesigned and reworked show, from lighting to scenography. |
