In 1970 Guillermina Motta released a classic album 'Remena Nena', eleven cuples in Catalan, which ironically updated the dresses, songs and forms of the Belle Epoque. Now, almost fifty years after Guillermina's album, and when nearly a hundred years ago these cuples made people laugh and dance at the same time, Arrels de Gracia has recorded them again in rumba form with the title 'Remena, Nen!', to which they have added a twelfth track: 'Jo Soc Barcelonista', which Guillermina Motta recorded on a well-known EP in 1972. Rumba and cuple are two great popular genres of Catalan music, born in Barcelona, in the Gr?cia neighbourhood and in El Paralelo, respectively.
