There are few things that warm the cockles more here at Xango Music than welcoming a new label to the fray, especially when their first full-length release is as ambitious and infectious as No Wahala Sounds. They?ve turned their attention to the rich musical soil of early 80s Kenya, focusing on the rare sides being turned out by Narobi?s Audio Productions studio. It opens with the uplifting call and response group vocals of Orch Bana Sambo?s Solongo (translated as Working Together) before moving into the richer, unrelenting rhythms of Mado Zaina by Bana Likasi, complete with irresistible, jinking horns.
