Angolan born and raised singer, percussionist and dancer Vivalda Dula has teamed up with Latin Grammy-winning producer Emilio D. Miler for her new solo album Dula. Featuring all original music by Dula, and performances by an international cast of stellar players recorded around the world, the 12-song album is a hybrid of African and South American musical styles, seasoned a bit with American funk and gospel, and two gorgeous string quartet arrangements by the multi-talented Miler. Dula's soulful, soaring vocals were recorded at Houston?s legendary Sugar Hill Recording Studios, and she sings her poetic, socially conscious lyrics in Kimbundu, the language of her native country, as well as Portuguese, Spanish and English.
