"Divine" is a journey through the ambivalent manifestations of the sacred. An industrial North African bass trip into the dark ceremonies of resurrection. It blows shade over the pagan/religious duality, through which mysticism can blossom, and questions the entanglement between animist rituals and transcendent ceremonies. This is part one of a conceptually-charged triptych, expected to include upcoming albums "Mothers" and "Sukun". The first of the series is a dogma-defying interrogation into the pagan-sacred dichotomy and an exploration of the mysticism that arises from within it. Throughout, the album possesses that cryptic, deep-bass electronica that any album with such a profoundly explorative intent requires. |
