After the lazy Poludnie ("Midday"/"South"), the time has come for Polnoc ("Midnight"/"North"). Polski Piach consists of musicians associated with the Warsaw improvisation scene. After their very well-received debut release, Poludnie, exploring the sound of primal blues from the badlands, the band makes a step forward and presents a new album, recorded in a slightly different line-up, featuring Patryk Zakrocki on guitars, Piotr Melech on bass clarinet and Piotr Domagalski on basolia. The title ? Polnoc ? conveys the dark, dense atmosphere of their new compositions, based on blues guitar pulsation, but also drawing on Polish sonorism and folk music. |
