Producer, composer and percussionist who studied in Mali, VESKO invites you on a galvanising musical journey, where machines and men happily combine to pay tribute to Africa. The Frenchman, who has been fed with the sounds of Bamako, knows how to combine samplers, effects, drum machines... and Malian voices and instruments. On this album, composed between Paris and Bamako, he invited some magnificent voices: Ma?mouna Soumbounou - a young Malian singer, who was brought up on the songs of Oumou Sangare, Manu Sissoko, a Frenchwoman with an extraordinary voice, and the griot Cheik Siriman Sissoko, with whom he played for a long time, from Paris to Bamako. It is indeed the story of Vesko, of his Malian travels and his musical friendships, that is told on this album "De Bamako...". |
