info

A few years ago, singer Anne Roed Refshauge found some old letters and a diary at the family's attic. It was letters from Anne?s great grandfather to his familie, while he was sent out as a soldier at the East Front during the First World War. The letters and his diary are full of loneliness and insecurity, but also of hope. They have now been transformed into songs by the great grandchild, Anne Roed Refshauge and the Danish band Svestar. The album conveys a personal and contrasting war experience. Along the way, we understand the meaning of a letter, of words filled with love, of the little note attached to a shipment of food. Realize that the stars in the sky are the same everywhere. And the absurd recognition that the sun can shine over a battlefield buried by dead men's bodies.
