South African traditional music guru, Dizu Plaatjies' new album ?Ubuntu - The Common String?, is a slight departure from his core neo-traditional style, with the inclusion of many musicians from outside of the strict world music definition. Actually billed as Dizu Plaatjies and Friends, this time it takes in jazz, pop, rock and reggae influences. It is still, in the view of the artist, african music, and still very much world music. Featuring percussionist Lucas van Merwijk, guitarist Derek Gripper and many more.
