This album is a celebration of the 50-year career of master djembé-player Adama Dramé. Already as a young child he decided that the djembé was his destiny. Looking back those 50 years, he made this album called Dakan, meaning ?destiny?. He wanted it to be resolutely modern and outward-looking. His vision of mandingo percussion goes beyond the grand tradition, and so his djembé becomes the carrier of universal messages.
