?Alif? is a rare project, a collective project that creates a music of today with influences of yesterday. At the crossroads of the music of India, Maghreb and West Africa, ?Alif? creates a musical parenthesis, a moment out of time and borders. Sometimes it is the energy of a Gnawa song that "trances" the melody. Sometimes it was the Indian voice that founded the existence of a melody which itself gave rise to a rhythmic line, then a chorus with three voices.
