Ce?l M?r (pronounced as Kiol Mor) is a musical genre from the Highlands of Scotland, originally played only on the Great Highland Bagpipe. Ceol Mor is not only music, but lines of poetry with notes instead of words, depicting the world and surroundings of the ancient clans. An ancestral form of composition which finds an echo in contemporary repetitive and minimalist music. Today, Patrick Molard presents an unheard creation of this music on stage, played and arranged by an ensemble of Breton musicians. Jacky Molard (violin), H?l?ne Labarri?re (double bass), Yannick Jory (saxophone), Simon Goubert (drums) and Eric Daniel (guitar) play in a chosen directory stemming of the 17th and 18th century, rumbling the ceol mor into a new musical form. |
