Canarro is one of Hungary's finest manouche swing bands. Starting out as a street musician duo, they have since grown into a five-member band with successful performances on the stages of Budapest?s Palace of the Arts, SZIGET festival; playing abroad as well. Their favorite venues are still the small clubs, where an audience can experience the immediacy of their music. The title of their album evokes the atmosphere of Budapest, New York and Paris at the beginning of the previous century. Guest artists Biro Szabolcs (Maszkura), Orbay Lilla and Caussanel Izabella contribute vocals. Lakatos Vilmos Jr. who is almost a permanent member, joins them for a few songs on solo guitar. The album also includes two songs with a virtuoso "guitar duel" performed by Jakab Viktor and Sidoo Attila. This new record features jazz standards written in the style of Django Reinhardt. |
