Ciftci, Zeki - Payiz - Sounds From Mesopotamien

'Payiz' is the story of the journey to the past. These songs were born centuries ago, made out of poems. So much time passed over these words, some of them lost their meaning. Until Zeki left his hometown in 1991 and came to Germany, he never listened to these old songs. Then when he got homesick, he had to embrace them. He searched for their melodies but they already had left his memory, so he found new melodies to accompany the old poems. Together with friends on their instrument this album became filled with sounds from Mesopotamia.
