The Phantom of the Opera?s longest serving Carlotta, Lara Martins, has released a moving and eclectic debut album, Cancao. A beautiful collection of songs from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, encompassing tango, Brazilian music, Portuguese Fado and modern classical-jazzy art-songs by pianist and composer Daniel Bernardes. A passionate program that features a dialogue between classical and folk influences in the composition of the last 100 years, on a travel though Ibero-American culture in music. Lara celebrates the music of her homeland, Portugal with the grace, expertise and powerful theatricality of an accomplished West End performer.
