Gaiteiros de Lisboa is one of the most important groups of renewal and reinvention of traditional Portuguese music. They have traced and continue to trace new paths for the identity of Portuguese music. Inventive, often revolutionary, creators of new sounds, instruments and (re)readings of popular lyrics. Gaiteiros de Lisboa are also responsible for the emergence of successive generations of new musicians and bands who, following in their footsteps, also launched themselves into the adventure of taking the heritage of Portuguese rural music reinvented in the 21st century.
