Stringflip is a collective of young and gifted musicians with a refreshing take on folk music traditions. Performing almost purely original compositions, the quartet?s members are well versed in Nordic and Celtic music styles and compose new tunes which develop the genres whilst respecting the traditions. On this debut album, each member has contributed two original compositions which draw on their varied artistic backgrounds and lead the listener through an array of musical landscapes: presented with the peculiar rhythmic structures and melancholic moods of Swedish folk music, the energetic grooves and melodies of Danish and Irish traditional music, as well as arrangements resembling classical art music. The album is tied together by the unique sound and vision that defines Stringflip - energetic, simple and uplifting.
