The Artchipel Orchestra is an ensemble of great scenic and musical impact, born from an idea of the drummer, composer and conductor Ferdinando Farao, award-winning in the referendums of Italian specialized magazines and warmly welcomed by international critics. From a repertoire of original songs, the band has moved on to own arrangements of compositions written in the seventies, eighties and nineties by Mike Westbrook, Alan Gowen, Fred Frith and Dave Stewart. This album is totally dedicated to arrangements for big bands of songs written by Hugh Hopper and Robert Wyatt for Soft Machine. The Artchipel has played at the most important national jazz festivals and has been joined by international musicians. |
