Burruezo is the artistic name of Pedro A. Burruezo, one of the most unique, solid and transversal Catalan artists. Now he presents Dervishes & Troubadours, a unique and intoxicating album in which the exploration of ancient, Sufi, Medieval, Moorish, Sephardic, and other ancient music is explored. Burruezo's new work conjures two elements. On the one hand, contemporary music inspired by Sufism, with Moroccan aromas, with pieces sung by Burruezo in Arabic and Castilian, with Arab instruments, with a deep spiritual message. On the other hand, music inspired by troubadours, Sephardic music, medieval aromas, sung in Catalan and in Ladino, mainly, by Maia Kanaan.
