Marcin Ciupidro is a vibraphonist, composer and musician active in the Wroclaw alternative scene. He has recorded with many bands across various styles ? traditional music, improvised jazz and alternative rock (Robotobibok, Metamuzyka, Neurasja, Coldair). Ciupidro first solo album defies categorization. The point of departure is the contrast between the sound of acoustic instruments and electronic synthesizers. But it is not a mere sound experiment ? the compositions are based on subtle melodic themes, inspired by the minimal repetitive and superimposed rhythmic structures, creating sound spaces with the slowed down flow of time. All this, sometimes cut by a sharp free jazz explosion, creates an unusual, magical landscape.
