Tarquim, is a musical project dedicated to the creation of new songs from the study of different folk and popular musical traditions. It is led by saxophonist, flautist, composer and producer Pau Vidal. 'A Cuba' stems from Vidal's admiration for the Cuban and Afro-Cuban musical tradition. This led him to spend several months in Havana to study with some of the island's best musicians, such as Jose Eladio Amat Medina, 'Julito' Padron, Lazaro Hernandez and Eduardo Rubio, flautist of the emblematic Orquesta Aragon. With the intention of getting to know, share and learn from the different cultural manifestations in their full dimension, not only through records. Son, guaracha, descarga, bolero, salsa? Pure Rhythm! |
