Songs of the Three Courts, with Lamia Yared and guests, carry us through the century of the golden age of the Ottoman Era. Through series of poems from the palaces of Syria, Egypt and Persia, the singer performs works from classical Arabic, Turkish and Persian repertoires. Accompanied by a group of virtuoso musicians, Lamia Yared revisits the 12th century with a Persian poem by Abdel Qader Maraghi, tracing a route to the court of Constantinople with a piece by Dede Effendi. Travelling through Egypt, she interprets a 17th century Qasida written by the poet Imam Shabrawi. Last but not least, will be presented some of the most beautiful Muwashahat of Aleppo. |
