Living in Rome means absorbing forms, colors and stories of a metropolis anchored to a tradition that is continuously reshuffled with a social fabric made of multiculturalism and unusual languages: knowing how to use those languages and return them in song form, without indulging in mannerisms and style exercises, is an operation that, when it succeeds, fills with wonder. To the classic folk instruments (accordions, double basses, mandolins, candies) are added "alienating" electronic sounds, which tell other stories or the same stories from other points of view, while the lyrics leave a constant and never reassuring presence, like that of Pier Paolo Pasolini, with the same stubborn intention as always: to sing again about Rome and the world in this jagged present of ours. |
