'Da questa parte del mare' is a 'concept album', entirely dedicated to a single topic, as if the whole album were a novel and the songs, many chapters that together tell a story. The theme, the red thread that sews and holds all the songs together, is that of modern migration. A poetic reflection, open and without demagogy, on the enormous movements of peoples that are crossing our borders. On the hard reasons for leaving, on the painful decision to cross deserts and seas, on the meaning of words like 'land' or 'homeland' and on the sense of uprooting and bewilderment that moving always brings with it.
