Lapua-Uusi-Guinea keeps the rhythms, resonance, exuberance, beauty and the joy of dancing at the centre of its music. Founded in spring 2018, Lapua-Uusi-Guinea, in keeping with the Pelimann tradition, takes the melodic sounds of Finnish and Scandinavian folk music and borrows from the soundscapes of different musical cultures around the world. The composer, lyricist and arranger of the traditional tunes is pianist Santeri Kaipiainen. Their debut single 'Polska al Fac(to)tum' was released in October 2020, and now there is their debut album Virittaa. |
