Charlotte Reinhardt has refocused on her piano, surrounded by talented jazz musicians, with a search for musical purity, intimacy and introspection. The Colors are 12 short, mysterious, lyrical and contemplative pieces, the result of improvisations around the piano, conceived as intimate journeys, introspections, poems, music for imaginary films. They trace the artist's initiatory journey, her quest for a return to her roots and a relationship with music that is free of all constraints. The emotions are contrasted, between tenuous atmospheres and luminous outbursts, revealing all the richness of Charlotte Reinhardt's influences: Ravel, Debussy, Scriabin, Liszt, Brad Mehldau, Jim Beard, Bill Evans. |
