"RIOT", riot, but anagrammed is "Trio", or even "Rito", different ways to express an idea of collective, through music but not only. It is the coming together of three musicians who, among the many projects in which they are involved, have decided to develop one that stimulates reflection and reaction at a time that, in their view, is particularly dark in terms of future prospects. The themes are disparate, including: domestic violence (Suzanne Vega), urban violence (Stevie Wonder), rejection of the 'different' (Gianmaria Testa), war and oppression (Leon Gieco), death at work (Chico Buarque), deceptions of power (The Who), exploitation of the planet's resources (Neil Young). The story of 'RIOT', to sum up, is an act of 'revolt', non-violent, against the greatest evil: indifference. The very long collaboration, first by Pietropaoli and then by Bianchetti, with Gianmaria Testa, has meant that this work is ideally dedicated to him.
