Wei, Wu & Klaas Hekman - Oostum Wind

The friendship/collaboration of Wu Wei and Klaas Hekman started in 2013. In 2019 they decided to make a CD together. This was made possible in 2020 by the invitation to the 2020 Summer Jazz Bike Tour in the Netherlands. The CD was recorded in the centuries-old church in Oostum on the two days prior to their duo performance at this special festival. The CD contains the most beautiful tracks of the pieces recorded by Marc Schots on 27 and 28 August 2020. Two musicians who developed their own language on their unusual instruments, Wu Wei's Chinese Sheng and Klaas Hekman's bass saxophone. An impressive variety of timbres, blending of overtones, unpredictable twists of mood, texture, energy and adventure.
