When in 1960 Elza Soares released her debut LP she had already accumulated a large experience as a performing artist having toured Argentina with Mercedes Batista. The great success of her single 'Se acaso voce chegasse' was a firm statement of quality undeniable and the unique style of Elza Soares; she who brought Louis Armstrong's scat style to the samba. The influence of jazz anticipated the bossa-nova phenomenon. Elza Soaresbecame an international star widely known touring Europe and the US and extending her career over the past 60 years; obtaining numerous successes on the charts and obtaining prestigious awards. Unfortunately, she passed away recently.
