Katia Pesti created many artistic projects over the years, together with other musicians, actors, choreographers and dancers; 'Apnea' is her latest recording project, and contains a suite of six compositions for piano. Her music is a sound journey born from the mixture of minimalism, renaissance contaminations, Balinese timbres, forays into jazz; a musical journey that is rooted in the search for completely personal modes of expression, in which the concept of contamination goes to a deeper level of knowledge until it reaches a musical dimension that is both archaic and contemporary at the same time. The interrelationships with the minimalist current highlight a strong rhythmic impact, supported by an original and incisive communicative creativity and by the innovative use of percussions in piano performance.
