Old and new melodies walk side by side on the third album by Swedish Klezmer Trio Tzeitel. The album displays a mix of traditional and contemporary. Old Yiddish melodies with their roots firmly planted in the ground as well as suggestive compositions by violinist Anna Cochrane taking you on a journey to unknown places. A couple of songs, sad respectively comforting, appear on the album, sung in Swedish translations by accordionist Sara Fridholm. The arrangements are intricate and give all tracks, whether traditional or newly composed, a highly personal sound bearing elements of Swedish Folk Music, Chamber Music, Tango and more. |
