This album presents the soundtrack of an exhibition on traditional music from the County of Nice. Featuring Michel Bianco (expert of the music of this region), vocal quartet Corou de Berra and various other musicians and musicologists immersed in this culture, this project was initiated in 2012. The instruments exhibited are played in the County of Nice and have played an important role in the elaboration of the specific and evolving musical heritage. Accordions, hurdy-gurdy, fifes, drums, bells, mandolins, organs, mechanical music and old traditional songs: they all illustrate how a tradition that lives is a tradition that creates. Most vocal pieces are performed by Corou de Berra, instrumental pieces by specialists of the instrument.
