"Mescar?a" is the fusion of the term "mesca", which means "mix", and the word "aria", which identifies a vocal style characterized by the performance of a chant, present in the music of the south of Italy and defined as "air song" (canto ad aria). Mescaria is the new project of three members of the Baro Drom Orkestar with Arianna Romanella, young singer from Luca, crossing the soul of the south, passing from the countryside to the pizzica of Puglia, and making stops in Basilicata. A long musical journey from the roots of the south of Europe, touching the rites of Nigerian women, gypsy sounds, Romani songs, urban tarantella. With Arianna Romanella (vocals, guitar); Vieri Bugli (violin); Modestinus musician (accordion); Gabriele Pozzolini (drums, percussion). |
