On Dec 15, 2014 Tanegasima Space Centre Radio telescope began receiving unusual music signals from space. "It was unbelievable: An all-consuming female voice singing in an unknown language" - wrote the head of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency Mikoto Shimazu. Later, users of the popular blogging service Reddit found out that this was Tatar language pertaining to the Volga-Kipchak group of Turkic languages. Recording rapidly spread online. Soon favorable reviews appeared in the music blogosphere. The critics agreed: ?The alchemy of Tatar ?epic? and ?modal? elements and cosmic and electronic pathos, results in elegant and romantic stream of music which shift the pentatonic paradigm towards new horizon, creating an imaginary system of a ?parallel worlds? with its own utopian ideals?. Later it was discovered that this was the voice of Tataeli, the daughter of Aelita, queen of Mars and the first Tatar space explorer Ilgizar Zinnatullin. |
