"Sacred Mount" is the new album by Giovannangelo de Gennaro and Ensemble Calixtinus. The band has been active on the music scene since 1992 and presents a sonic journey between East and West in search of the sacred. The album is unique as the places touched by the music were physically walked by Giovannangelo de Gennaro, who accompanies the music with a series of travel stories, notes, and reflections. A journey from Mount Athos to the Greek Epitaphios of Seikilos, from the Tremiti Islands to the Basilica of San Nicola, from Constantinople to Armenia.
