Vocal trio Vanja Modigh releases their debut album 'Vocal Tradition'. Fragile, powerful and heartfelt songs with roots in various folk traditions. Vanja Modigh curiously explores the potential of the voice with intertwining harmonies, peculiar ornaments, innovative rhythms, quarter tones and a fairytale sound. Vanja is an anagram of the singers' first names and Modigh is a byword for what they want to be when they sing and choose their repertoire. 'Vocal Tradition' mixes Swedish and Nordic folk music with Georgian polyphony, pithy American old time, folk music from Corsica and self-composed music.
