Il Collettivo Decanter was founded in 2006 in Turin, at the Bottega Musicale del Flamenco, by Marta Caldara (Syndone, Estrem?a, Walden), Marco Perona (Misticanza Trio) and the singer Alessia Galeotti (Jazz Art Orchestra, Gipsy Soul, Organic Quartet). Soon Vincent Boniface (L'Orage, TocTocToc, Estrem?a) joins them. The quartet offers Italian songs and instrumental pieces, all of their own composition, skillfully mixing the strong flamenco matrix of the first songs, with a new orientation towards traditional transalpine folk music. The presence of a jazz voice and instruments such as piano and vibraphone, however, creates sounds foreign to both genres. The result is a kaleidoscopic project of worldmusic.
