Erik Marchand has initiated his Breton Kreiz Breizh Akademi. The compositions of this academy orchestra corresponds to the western classical music tradition, but also connects the middle-Eastern string orchestra?s aesthetics to the Breton vocal repertoire, thanks to micro-tonality. With this atypical orchestration and an artistic process involving improvised music, the 12 musicians create a new genre, rearranging geographical and temporal marks. Arrangements and compositions were undertaken in collaboration with great masters from other musical cultures: Fawaz Baker, Iiad Eymour, Ross Daly, Philippe Le Corff, Loukas Metaxas, Jacky Molard, Dominique Pifar?ly, Camel Zekri, Erik Marchand.
