After the successful 8CD Anthology of Moravian Folk Music, Indies Scope began working on a new series of CDs of Moravian folk songs with different themes to be released this year. The first of the new 4CD series is an album by Marian Friedl with songs from Wallachia. The Beskydy Odyssey is a message about wandering through the traditional musical instruments of the Beskydy and Javornik, a small piece of the northwestern Carpathians on the border of the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia. Marian Friedl is a musician and ethnomusicologist who has long been involved in researching and playing traditional musical instruments of the North West Carpathians. This album is full of beautiful songs and original Wallachian music. |
